During AMD's Next Horizon Gaming event, the company introduced its new line of hardware parts that, on paper, appears to be capable of becoming the most robust hardware we have on the market. They announced their third generation Ryzen processors and one of them looks pretty impressive.

The big highlight was for the Ryzen 9 3950X processor, which has 16 cores and costs $ 750 (approximately $ 2893). Besides the generous number of colors, the processor has a clock of 3.5GHz, a cache of 72MB and a TDP (Thermal Power Design) of 105W, considered something unheard of in the market.

The main highlight of this processor is its 7nm-based architecture which features standard size sockets that fit most AM4 motherboards available in the market. According to AMD, those 7nm are not only more economical and efficient but faster on tasks because of their additional cores and are better at playing games.

AMD also said it plans to continue offering video card compatibility by 2020. The company resolves to prevent consumers from buying a new motherboard together with the parts used to upgrade its CPU. "It will take a big turning point in technology to get out of AM4 socket," says AMD's David McAfee, adding that a major change in motherboard architecture is likely to be needed before AMD bothered to upgrade its connection.

One of the focuses of this equipment is aimed at the streamers. The processor allows these content creators to be able to transmit in high quality, without loss of performance or the drop of frames that usually happens during these transmissions.

AMD is quite confident that it will be able to acquire a share of the market that archrival Intel, another processor manufacturer, cannot achieve because they can barely reach 10nm processors. Travis Kirsch of AMD said: "I do not think there is any reason for people to buy Intel processors after we do this." In his speech, he refers to what new processors can offer about their competitor.
